Successful type approval according to ECE R79
Together with our long-standing partner MANITOWOC, we have achieved a decisive technological breakthrough: the successful development of a new fail-operational system that not only meets the highest safety standards, but also enables a completely new steering architecture for the MANITOWOC GMK4070.
The challenge? The conversion of the second axle: previously mechanically coupled to the front axle, it is now controlled electro-hydraulically. This conversion placed high demands on the vehicle's safety mechanisms, as precise and safe steering must be guaranteed even in the event of a fault.
Thanks to the intensive cooperation with MANITOWOC and the support of TÜV Nord, we successfully put this advanced system into operation and received type approval in accordance with ECE R79.
