MOBIL ELEKTRONIK: Steering system according to ASIL-D safety level

MOBIL ELEKTRONIK GmbH from Langenbeutingen, Germany, is global market leader in the area of electro-hydraulic auxiliary steering systems known as EHLA.

At the moment the ISO 26262 standard, relating to the functional safety of cars, is still limited to vehicles up to 3.5 t. However, in the future this standard will also become obligatory for vehicles above 3.5 t.

To meet future safety relevant requirements the latest steering generation of the manufacturer has been developed completely anew: new hardware components and an entirely new software architecture. This in itself is however not sufficient. Only together with system components such as angle transducers and hydraulic units from MOBIL ELEKTRONIK the entire steering system reaches the safety level ASIL-D.
