DTS® - DynamicTrailerSteering for agricultural trailers
Electronically steered, mechanically decoupled
DTS® stands for DynamicTrailerSteering and is the intelligent steering system from ME MOBIL ELEKTRONIK for trailers in agricultural applications.
Unlike conventional forced steering systems, DTS® operates without sensors mechanically connected to the towing vehicle or drawbar. The steering system is based on the proven EHLA® function modules, enhanced with state-of-the-art sensor technology and precise control logic.
The result: greater flexibility, less maintenance, and significantly improved handling, especially with long or multi-axle trailers.

Intelligent angle determination using IMU sensors
Precise detection of all axes of movement
Instead of mechanically detecting the drawbar angle, DTS® uses an inertial measurement unit (IMU) that measures all six degrees of freedom of the vehicle in the x, y, and z axes.
By combining IMU data with driving speed and direction, the control unit calculates the exact articulation angle between the towing vehicle and trailer.
Based on this calculated angle, the target steering angles of the axles are precisely steered.
FAQ - DTS® Frequently Asked Questions
-
DTS® is a steering system that does not require sensors mechanically connected to the towing vehicle and drawbar.
An inertial measurement unit with six degrees of freedom (6DoF-IMU) measures acceleration and rotation rate. This is used to calculate articulation angles and target steering angles.
No. Electronic recording of the vehicle status eliminates the need for mechanical calibration on the drawbar.
DTS® was developed specifically for harsh agricultural conditions. It is insensitive to dirt, vibrations, and changing weather conditions.
